Commons Giveaway

This was the picture for the lot I just gave away on Craigslist.  I think it was probably about 7k baseball cards and 4k football.  This was the result of lots and lots of sorting everything that I've bought at garage sales and from craigslist myself.  All my keepers and traders are still tucked away in my closet, but these were just taking up space.

They went to a guy who coaches youth baseball and has two sons of his own that are starting to collect.  They were happy to get them and I was happy to be rid of them.  :-)

What's the largest # of cards you have ever gotten rid of in one shot?  How did you do it -- sell/give?

  1. Two 1500 count boxes. They went to two kids (who were brothers) for Christmas. I didn't know the kids, it was kind of like a "Toys for Tots" kind of thing.
And since they were brothers, I made sure one box wasn't better than the other.

    1. Nice job. I think making sure they were "even" with each other would have been a lot more work than what I did -- throw everything in randomly with no rhyme or reason. :-)

  2. I packaged up three 3000 count boxes with extras for a friend of my mom's to give to her 3 grandsons. All junk wax 87-92.

Guy gave me literally 20-30,000 cards on Craig's list about 5 years earlier, all junk wax 89-93.

    Yep, I regifted.

    1. I think that's how all commons should be treated. They should just keep getting passed down the line until they end up with someone who really wants them. Regifting is a beautiful thing. :-)
